Hunter groaned to himself, pacing near the mess hall. Running his fingers through his hair, this was the only time he ever really got 'nervous'. When he was going to break-up with his current girlfriend. The son of Mars was never one for long-term relationships, it was something that everybody at Camp knew. But there was always the one girl that said that she could 'fix' Hunter and would begin dating him. Only for them to break up about three months later. And then he would be single for a while and then the cycle would repeat again.
He had an idea of what he was going to say. It was what he said just about every time, the classic 'it's not you, it's me' line. After waiting for about ten minutes, he watched as a bubbly blonde girl came from the direction of the Cohorts. Angela was her name. Right? It was something along those lines. But she was heading straight towards him and when she caught up to him, she quickly grabbed his arm and kissed his cheek. "Good morning you" she smiled, making Hunter now feel uneasy. "Uh yeah, good morning. Listen, I need to tell you something" he said, dragging her to the side of the mess hall.
It would be easier if they were semi-alone for this, but there was never really a perfect place to be 'alone' at Camp. If he made it look like they were off to the side, maybe people would think that they were about to start making out and leave them alone. Brushing some of his dark hair out of his eyes, Hunter gave her a small weak smile. "I think we need to break up."
"I don't get why you're breaking up with me Hunter. This doesn't make any sense at all. Last night, you literally said that you love me and-" his newest 'girlfriend' began rambling when Hunter had decided to stop her. It was his usual date and dump situation, four months had passed along with her and now it was finally time to break up with her. So far this had been his longest relationship, even if during one month he was gone on a quest. That's something that she should be proud of.
"Actually I didn't. I said that I loved certain parts of you." Hunter admitted, shrugging his shoulders, hoping that she would put two and two together. They spent last night together. Alone. In his Cohort and the mood was right. What else was going to happen? He watched as her face went from shocked, sad and then to disgusted in the span of mere seconds. And then she raised her hand and brought it across his face and slapped him. She slapped him hard. "You are a disgusting and scared little man Hunter Morgan" she spat at him, poking him right in the chest. "Never speak to me again or else" she mumbled before quickly turning on her heels and walking away promptly.
Rubbing the right side of his face, Hunter frowned. Many other girls had slapped him before but this one actually stung pretty bad. "Well that was a little rude" he mumbled to himself. Maybe nobody else saw what had happened.
