Work for the day was already over, the Demeter and Aphordite cabins had already mostly left, the cleaning of the stables and the brushing of the Pegasii done, the time for them to socialize, to spend time with friends and the like now. Layla hung back however, staying near the stables while everyone else left - her mother was Queen of Beasts, and she felt at home near the pegasii - at least more so than near the other campers. Ever since she was Claimed she could feel it becoming more clear the affinity she had for the creatures, not quite understanding words, but feeling their emotions in her mind. One in specific had been feeling particularly skittish and unhappy today, and the Aphrodite kid who should have been tending to her was busy with gossiping.
She didn't hesitate at all to open the gate to that specific stable, the pegasus showing how uncomfortable it was by huffing at her, only to lighten its mood as she grew closer, lowering its head. Brush, sponge, and bucket in hand, she calmly began tending to the winged horse. It wasn't a hard task, and one of the few she could relax when doing - so she didn't mind being 'stuck' tending them ever, or even staying behind. She could feel the creature's emotions lighten, and how it began feeling better, even just as she barely began washing its side - noting multiple missed spot, and a few sores. Clearly someone had kicked the beast a bit hard while trying to ride it during lessons - she wasn't too good of a healer for people, but she could at least dull the pain and help the bruises along a little bit. She had no doubt that whoever caused that was just as if not more injured than the pegasus, they were not exactly tame or gentle beasts, part of what made them such wonderful mounts for Heroes.
Notes: Someone wanna come bug her as she washes horses? I dunno!
