Daenerys was quick to rise this particular October morning. This particular day was very special. It was the day that Dani and Logan carved pumpkins together. It was something about Halloween that Dani enjoyed and Logan just enjoyed the holiday. She couldn't find anything that he disliked about Halloween. So, every year they would pick a day in October and carve pumpkins. The very first year they had started this tradition, it was at Logan's house. She vowed it would never again be at his house. He had so many plastic spiders roaming his home that she truly didn't speak to him for nearly a month. Spiders terrified the daughter of Mars and the son of Mercury was well aware of that.
After that year, it was always done at her house. She got up early every year to ensure that her home was cleaned and prepped for when Logan arrived. She always purchased three or four pumpkins the day before and would line them on her kitchen table. She wasn't much of a decorator, she always left decorating to Logan. Halloween just wasn't something she did back home and only picked up a few things due to her relationship with the son of Mercury. Dani tended to leave everything remotely related to Halloween to him. She even had him pick out her costumes (if one was needed), costumes was not her forte. The demigod only owned a few Halloween themed items and one of which was given to her by Logan a very long time ago. It was a bracelet with two beads and a pumpkin. She wore it everyday around Halloween and generally was very reluctant to remove it. She had that bracelet on today.
Daenerys soon had everything prepared and ready. She quickly changed before sitting down at her kitchen table. She never bothered to unlock the door for the son of Mercury. He was the only person in New Rome that had a key to her house. He was the only one she truly trusted enough to give one to. She knew he would come in when he got there.
She glanced to the clock that ticked softly within the silence of her home. He would be here shortly. She leaned back in the chair she had claimed, her mind wandering to when the first year they had their pumpkin carving at Dani's home. It was the year she had given him a key to her home. It was also the year that she informed him that if he ever wanted to use those fake spiders as a prank against her again, she expect a bouquet of flowers before the first spider ever made it's appearance. She may be the daughter of the god of war, but she was still a girl and liked the occasional flowers once in a while. Halloween was the only time she could con them out of Logan. It was a fair enough trade. He got his pranks and she got her flowers.
Dani wondered though, if Logan remembered what her favorite flower was. He normally gave her roses or daisies. They were far easier to track down so she didn't mind them. Her favorite flowers were lilies. She had told him once upon a time ago, but that didn't mean he remembered. She shouldn't expect him to remember. They weren't dating, they weren't a couple, no matter how much she wanted it. "Oh well..." She mumbled as she laid her head on the table before her, "Maybe I should just let it go.." She didn't think she would ever muster up enough courage to tell Logan how she really felt. It was probably better (and healthier) for her to just try and push it out of her mind. That was harder than it sounded, for she had been trying to get over Logan for a while now, it just never seemed to happen.
