Niklaus sighed as he made his way through the market. It was midday and it seemed like it was going to be a wonderful, sunshiny day. Klaus was okay with the sunshine, he just liked it better when it rained. It was soothing and it calmed him more often than not. He pulled the list of essentials out of his pocket and looked over it. He currently had a bag that was filled to the brim of most of the objects on that list. He was only missing one other thing.
He weaved his way through the market, dodging anyone that wasn't paying attention to where they were walking and finally made it to his destination. He walked into the small enclosure and poked around for a few minutes before finding what he was looking for. It wasn't exactly what he was looking for, he just needed a new book to read and luckily there were still a few at this shop he hadn't picked up yet. Niklaus flipped through the pages before he walked over to the counter and paid for his new find. This one sounded like it would be most intriguing, but who was to say for sure.
Niklaus tucked the book into his bag and sighed, happy to finally be finished with this atrocious task. He hated going to the market. It was generally always crowded and no one knew how to say 'excuse me' or 'thank you' or even 'please'. It wasn't in anyone's vocab when they were pushing and shoving their way through the market streets. Besides the rudeness of people, he hated being touched by random strangers. It was just who he was. Any of his friends, he was fine with, it was more the random bumping into people in the streets that gave him the creeps.
Nik turned to leave the establishment and smiled at the sight before him. It was raining. He watched the people on the streets scurry to find shelter and others pull out umbrellas or have some other random object over their head. As if that would protect them from the rainwater. They were fooling themselves.
Klaus zipped the bag that he held shut, so that his finds at market wouldn't get wet or ruined, before heading out into the rain. This rain was a gift sent from god, or perhaps his father, it cleared the streets up faster than any closing call would. The smile on Niklaus' face held as he walked down the empty street. He didn't mind getting wet, after all, he is generally only happy when it rains.
