WE CAN LEARN TO LOVE AGAIN
Nicholas gave a small shriek as the cabin door was suddenly open and threw his blanket over himself. He'd been having a nice half-sister-free day - though he did adore his sisters - and had been lounging around in just a pair of boxers. As out-going as he was, there were some people he didn't want to see him in his underwear.
He sighed in relief when he noticed in was Sian. He didn't care if girls saw him like this. It would have been embarrassing if a hot guy - though the hottest guy was at Camp Isis - had burst in. He probably would have been making-out with some random guy had his heart not been stolen by a gorgeous Egyptian.
His relief quickly vanished when he heard what sounding like crying and looked to Sian. Quickly he got to his feet and rushed over to her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close.
"Shh, it's okay," he cooed, gently running his hand up and down her back in a comforting way. Being the child of a love deity, he knew too well what she was going through. Heartbreak was a cruel thing, a torture he didn't think he'd even wish upon his enemies.
He didn't even have to ask. He knew what she was talking about. Zoey, Sian's crush, was dating Connor Stoll. To like someone who would never like you back in that way was cruel. He could only hope if he saw his Egyptian again, that he'd return his feelings. So many times had he gotten turned down or used. The only guy he'd dated that had truly cared about him had been Alistair.
He held Sian close, allowing her to cry against his shoulder, ignoring the wet of her tears. After a moment, he guided her to her bed and eased her into sitting on the edge. He sat down next to her and took both of her hands in his, ducking his head down so he could look at her face.
"I'm here for you," he assured her, releasing one of her hands and tucking some strands of her hair behind her ear. "It's okay to cry. I'll stay with you as long as you want." He wished he could magically heal that wound in her heart. He wished he could make everything better. He wished he could find her soul-mate for her and watch her live happily ever after. He didn't understand why love had to be so cruel.
