Eleanor was biting her lip hard enough to make it bleed, not that she really noticed until the coppery taste filled her mouth. Reflexively she licked her lips, proving only to smear the blood across her lips like a sick imitation of lipstick. The Norse Aesir's eyes were stuck firmly on one of the rings around her fingers (rings were a trademarks of Eleanor's. She liked to indulge in jewelry, it appealed to her like a dragon to riches.) which read 'HARM NONE'. She smiled sarcastically at the irony of the whole situation. She usually worse the ring as a reminder of her duties to her camp and her people but lately it was made null in the last few years. Being Aesir wasn't like Eleanor imagined when she first came to camp. It was a job bathed in blood and steeped full of traitors. Very much unlike the vision she had when she first took the mantle of Aesir as a child; she used to think being Aesir was being the shining, golden hero of the camp who lead their brothers and sister into battle on the back of the fiercest dragon. Eleanor had been fourteen years old when she was made Aesir, and she had never been more wrong in her life. Since then, Eleanor has had to deal with monsters in the form of creatures and her fellow campers. She laughed bitterly and her smile darkened; Eleanor never did tell Justin what happened to the man who had been Aesir before him.
Shaking off the dark memories, Eleanor sat back and threw her head back to look at the ceiling of the meeting hall and the painting of Celtic knots that made up their history. She easily picked out Ratatoskr, the bright red Squirrel was painting at the middle of the tree Yggdrasil. The squirrel had been Eleanor's first interaction with the Norse mythology and a close friend of her's. Unfortunately she hadn't seen Ratatoskr in ages, ever since he had left muttering about a missing God. She suddenly yearned for his council and advice.
Feeling childish, Eleanor returned her head back to its regular position and glanced about the meeting hall. It was called 'Meeting Hall' for a very good reason: it was a massive chamber with most space taken up by a huge round table surrounded by battered chairs. The room was made for being able to house every single camper when it came to meetings. The Norse always decided things as a whole community and valued every soldier's input. While Eleanor, Justin, Riley, and the rest of the Staff would sit grouped together on one side of the table, ever other camper had the right to come to the meeting and listen in on what was being discussed. Today was going to be about a grim subject.
Eleanor waited just right until the designated time for the meeting to start before she stood up to start the meeting. As usual, ever person in the room quieted or went completely silent at her insistence. It was just that kind of effect she had on her campers. Despite the way silence instantly fell around the room, Eleanor still took a few moments to straighten up the papers in front of her and give the silence a few moments to lengthen into tense suspension. Taking a breath to steel herself for what she was about to stay, the daughter of Forseti raised her head to look at the turn out in the room. Needless to say, it was completely packed in the room.
"If it has not be made obvious yet, I would like to call us all to order to discuss an impending issue. An issue that has been hanging over our heads for a few years now." Eleanor started, her voice unwavering and strong enough to echo about the room with authority. "We have known about the Egyptians existence for several years now, decades perhaps, and we have kept out of each others way well enough." Ellie paused as a few people snickered. Eleanor could probably guess they were laughing about her misfortune run ins with a certain Pharaoh. Eleanor had the sudden urge to strangle something. Instead, the Aesir took out her faithful blade and casually started to stroke one finger up and down its side, in an obviously threatening manner. "In recent developments, it would be best to address this issue once again. It has come to our attention the existence of two other camps: Camp Half Blood, a Greek Mythology Camp and Camp Jupiter, a Roman Mythology Camp." Eleanor paused once more as whispers broke out among the campers. She briefly turned her head to look to Justin before she continued. They had just left the library this morning after a lengthy discussion about the Romans and Greeks. It was about time they brought this issue into the light.
"Several of our campers have already had a run in with these Greek and Romans; myself included" Oops, Eleanor had forgotten to mention that part to Justin. She was going to pay for that later. "And their threat level as of this moment is unknown. We do not know where the Greeks or Romans stand. We do not know if they stand neutral or with the Egyptians. We do not know if the Greeks and Romans stand together. We do not know if they plot behind out backs." Loud mutters broke out at this but Eleanor raised her voice above all the noise. "However! We do know we will not be intimidated by them and anyone who dares to threaten our camp, or our campers will be faced with no less than an entire army of angry Norse, baying for blood." She finished with fierce note, her words almost coming out like a bark.
Eleanor stepped back slightly to give Justin a moment to speak. If she had wanted, she would continue but knowing the hero Justin could be, he would want to say his piece before they started to work together a plan.
