Kevin stared at himself for a good amount of time – not because he liked what he saw, but rather the opposite. He had tried on every shirt he owned before settling on the long-sleeve he was wearing. A part of him wanted to go to the Aphrodite Cabin and get a second opinion – he knew Khalessi and Nicholas knew fashion way better than he did. However considering Nicholas was the one to give him the skinny jeans he now wore, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to go to him. He preferred Khalessi’s take on dating, but he would never say that. He didn’t want to hurt Nicholas’ feelings.
He blushed at the uncomfortable realization at his tight the jeans were. He swore they were for a girl, but Nicholas said otherwise. He put his earrings in and frowned, unable to decide whether he liked them or not. He slipped a ring on and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt – after all, it was summer and he was already getting hot just standing in his cabin. He unbuttoned the top couple buttons of his shirt, buttoned them again, and then unbuttoned the first two… again.
He glanced over his shoulder at the small, beanie-baby Red Panda plushie sitting on his bed and staring at him with wide, round eyes. He had practically begged a fellow camper to go out and buy it for him – he had given the camper enough money. As much as he preferred any advice Khalessi could give him, Nicholas’ advice wasn’t always terribly perverted. Part of his advice was to let ‘Connor’ know that he liked him. He wasn’t the type to blurt it out so Nicholas had suggested making ‘Connor’ feel liked rather than using his words.
That was where the plushie came in. He didn’t want to be someone who ‘Connor’ simply fooled around with and flirted with when he was bored. It had been a while since he had developed such a strong crush on someone who showed even the slightest bit of interest in him. Besides, when he looked at ‘Connor,’ he thought of a Red Panda. He wasn’t sure why, he just did. It was cute and cuddly, and ‘Connor’ was cute. The thought of cuddling with ‘Connor’ made him blush again.
He ran his hands through his hair and tried to make it look decent. When he was at least satisfied with the reflection in the mirror, he snatched the plushie up and stepped out of his cabin, leaving behind the comfort of a book in his hands. It was around the afternoon and a majority of the campers seemed to just be hanging out. He figured the best place to start looking for his crush would be the Hermes cabin.
He mustered up some courage and forced himself out of his shy bubble. He stepped up to the door of the cabin and hesitantly knocked. He didn’t know what he would do or where he would look if ‘Connor’ wasn’t in there. He guessed that he would take it one step at a time, though he preferred to look ahead and solve problems before they came.
