De Felipe could only smile, while the tip of his fingers sparked with electricity.
Uriel was not one bit proud of what was happening right now. He felt like he was compromised, and he could very well run away but couldn't. His protocol was to stealthily escape the situation once it turned sour. But obviously, Uriel was too damn stubborn. He was never one to follow another person. He always made his own way and improvised. It's what made him a great thief and a great field agent of the Greeks. He always had his own plan. But it proved troublesome for them as well. Right this moment. He could just as easily shock this woman to submission and question her, but Uriel was attracted to her, and he liked her too much to do that. Uri was just about ready to immolate himself to nothingness. Even his iron will was no match for the pull of his heart. And I only just met her.
Her next words made Uriel laugh, but not a seductive chuckle, nor a happy one. The bitter sounding, hollow laugh that is meant for nothing but sarcasm. The pain in his voice was apparent, but Uriel could do nothing but look at her, sorrow filling his being. Though Uriel couldn't pinpoint whether it was rage, sorrow or frustration. It was not every day that Uriel met a woman he was genuinely interested in. He had one night stands when he was very young, But nothing serious. Except maybe the woman he met right before his apparent death. Uriel felt bad for her , having her boyfriend "killed" like that. But whatever, Uriel did not appear here to relive past memories. Uriel's mind went to work, and he started to devise a plan to get him out safely, without harming her, or at least keeping her intact.
"It sounds like you go to a different type of camp. Ones that houses extra ordinary people that needs protection. I heard that there are other camps like that. Some sort of a military camp, I guess." Uriel dropped the bomb. Uriel damn knew that she was a demigod. So much that her scent started to fade because of his reassurance. She wasn't like him, he assured himself. She was something different. He couldn't exactly describe what she was, but Uriel was damn sure she wasn't Greek. His heart was pounding, telling him to do the right thing as they passed the crowd of people. His mind told him to stab her and fade away. Like how he was supposed to do. But she still held on to him, like she was holding on to a last glimmer of hope like he was. Her blush from his compliment She still seemed to be a very normal girl, but he knew otherwise. Uriel couldn't break free of the grasp she had on him. And he knew damn well that she couldn't break free of his. So it was like a mental game of chess, where no one wanted to capture each king. A war where no one wants to make the first shot. It was very much like that, and he knew nothing on how to remedy their little situation. Ellie had to work with her own wits to try and combat him. Uriel would just flee, he didn't have the heart to hurt her. He was just a coward, he guessed. An adjective he never thought to be used on him.
Uriel was no coward. In fact, he was known for doing the impossible. From pulling dangerous heists and gunning down Cartels to getting into fistfights with giants and setting fire to hordes of monsters. He wasn't the type of person to back away from a responsibility. But even his courage and fortitude had it's limits. He didn't want to hurt someone that did nothing to hurt him, and instead actually made his dull life better by a fraction in the few minutes they conversed. He couldn't bring himself to do it, he was a coward when it came to romance. That was the inevitable truth that Uriel let sink down on him. Even the hardest of men had weaknesses. That's what made them men in the first place.
Oh yes, a beautiful woman like you can hardly be a threat. Perhaps they still believe that you'd be interested in a Sugar Daddy. I hate to be them when they get...rejected." Two can play at that game. Uriel whispered, as a grin spread across his lips. A grotesque, poor-excused wolfish smile, baring his teeth to her, while his eyes stared at her. A crazy smile to match her own. It was as if they really were meant together. Uriel wanted to kiss her now and bring her back to camp. Couldn't he have a shot at a nice life? Little did he know, that things will go downhill from here on further.
As they walked through blocks of people, Uriel looked around, trying to find a means of escape. He could devise two plans. One, he goes in hot when she turns hostile (or if) And he levitates himself to the roof and make his escape there,, while burning a smokescreen to distract her.His second plan is to run towards a car, steal it and zoom off. Though she can chase, Uriel had some experience with doing a getaway drive. And he had the chance to make a clean escape. But either way, the Warlock loses. He comes out empty handed in each situation. The depressing thought crossed and weaved in his mind so much that he hadn't noticed the cafe, out in the distance from them.
Oh we're here? Well then. I'll go—" Uriel stopped, when he was met by her. He could only look at her. She wasn't just beautiful. It seemed that Aphrodite tormented him today. When she faced him, she looked breathtakingly beautiful. Not pretty or hot. Just beautiful. The way she tilted her head, to look at him as if he was the most interesting man in the world made Uriel stare at her eyes even more. He couldn't move, her beautiful stare paralyzed him in place. He was so enchanted, so much in fact, that her next words completely obliterated him.
"We demigods are hardly ever normal."
The words echoed through his head, each time it rang and repeated itself in his brain, Uriel felt his control over his power slipping. Enough that he let it visualize and surround his body, causing his eyes to glow a sudden blue. Not the blue eyed ones you'd see women fall for, but creepy cold blue. His eyes radiated a blue light, like icicles, while blue fire swirled around the iris of his eyes, matched by it's icy blue hue. Power coursed through his every fiber, and he almost took his chance and blasted her right there. He didn't know why he was so surprised. Maybe because he believed that she didn't know. That she'd accept him because she was just a clear sighted mortal. But she ever so ruthlessly destroyed that hope, which made him furious...But she did it beautifully, as well. making his heart flutter for her. Torn between what to do, Uriel simply let his stance fall, and he stared at her through his ghoulish eyes. She didn't need his announcement of what he was, so he skipped straight to the point.
"De Felipe. Uriel De Felipe. That's my real name. The spawn of Magic, and if you haven't guessed, liar extraordinaire. " He lifted a hand, his eyes returning to their normal state. He tried to touch her cheek, to caress it, to at least feel her one time. But it was truly up to her whether he'd let him to "Ellie. I knew from the start that you were extraordinary. But so unlike me. You don't have the blood of the Olympians coursing through you. You're something different. Something...more" He mused, before adding. "But please, forgive me for fooling you. And please don't let that stop what I...have for you. And you know damn well what I feel for you, in the short time that we spent in each other's company. I can only hope you feel the same for me, or at least have the empathy to understand me." He added quickly, while staring at her. But inside, he sent a silent prayer to the gods, because his death was looming over him ,ready to reap his wretched soul and chain him to the field of punishment.
