General
Respect everyone on the site; rudeness will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone, solve it.
No discrimination. No negative comments about one's sexuality, religion, race, etc. will be tolerated. Words can be hurtful and they can cut deep. Think about what you mean before you type or say anything. Despite 'sticks and stones may beak my bones, but words will never hurt me', words can hurt someone and they can even kill.
No cussing someone out
No debates in the cbox on subjects such as religion and sexual orientation, etc. They just get annoying and usually end up pissing someone off.
If you have a problem with someone and can't solve it between you and the person, take it up with a member of staff if needed; the staff are here to help.
Do not post links to anything inappropriate, including websites, pictures, and videos.
No plagiarism, including pictures, writings, graphics, etc. If you did not make it, do not say you did and credit the person who did.
Do not ask to be a part of the staff. If there's a spot open, it will be let known. Odds are that if you ask, sorry but you will not be given a part unless it is stated as open.
If you notice someone constantly disobeying the rules and a member of staff has not noticed, please PM a member of staff and let us know. We'd rather be able to directly confront the rule-breaker than have he/she cause trouble for the rest of the site.
If you have a problem, talk it out and reach an acceptable solution. Do not start fights out of character.
This site is PG-13, and as a member, you are expected to keep it so. Fights involve gore, we know, but keep it down. No one wants to get a horrid mental image. Because this site respectfully follows Proboards TOS, sex scenes are NOT allowed on here-- besides PG-13 usually means no sex. If you begin to write a sex scene, fade to black. If you wish to continue it, take it somewhere else. We don't want it. If you must continue it in personal message, fine, but we recommend that you don't as Proboards doesn't like that either. Violation mainly of the sex scene part of this rule can get this forum removed.

No god-modding or power-playing allowed. Do not take control of someone else's character unless they say it is okay, like in a fight.
Use proper grammar and spelling. It's easy to check your spelling. The only time you can slide by with using things such as "omg", "brb", "idk", "ttyl", and etc. is in your character's dialogue if they actually speak like that or if it's in a text message, etc.
Limit descriptions of gore.
This site is PG-13 like stated above. If you want to do something Mature, take it off the site. We respect Proboards TOS here and they do not want any mature content in threads and personal messages so neither do we. If it has to be known that your character is sleeping with another character, fade to black.
Do NOT post IN CHARACTER until AFTER your character's application has been accepted by a member of staff and do not bug staff to check out your application. The staff have lives and will see to your application as soon as possible.

We take the movie into consideration (with faceclaims though the movie cast isn't required for canon characters), but are rooted more so-in the books. And considering the site takes place Heroes of Olympus, if you haven't read the books, you're bound to get some spoilers. We do not include the Kane Chronicles, Magnus Chase, or Trials of Apollo as our Egyptian and Norse camps were created and contradict those series and we take place before Trials of Apollo. We don't take the show into consideration as the site takes place after the show does.
There is no posting requirement in order to make another character.
After being accepted, change your display name to your character's first and last names; if you don't do this, a member of staff most likely will.

Before applying for any character, check the face claim thread and ban threads.
Everything in the application must be filled out. (You may look at applications belonging to other members for examples)
If you are not finished with your application, you may post it as a WIP. After finishing it, reply to it and let us know it’s finished or let us know in the cbox or Discord. Do not bug the staff through messaging, chat box, or any other way about looking at your application.
If your application is denied, do not get angry over it. It's nothing personal. Read the reasons why it was denied and fix them. Once the errors are fixed, reply to the application and let us know you fixed them.
Members of staff must give out permission for anyone wanting to write a prophecy character (example: Rachel Elizabeth Dare).
The staff decide which characters hold positions of power (example: Cabin Counselors at Camp Half-Blood). If you wish to have one, inquire with a member of staff.
Do NOT change or add any coding to the applications. They are just the way the site likes them to be.
Each member is allowed ONE child of the Camp Half-Blood Big Three and ONE child of the Camp Jupiter Big Three until all spots are taken. Canon characters don't count, so long as you don't have two characters of the same parentage. For example: if you write Percy, you cannot app an original child of Poseidon. Legacies of the Big Three are NOT allowed.
Legacies of gods and goddesses are allowed at Camp Jupiter, Camp Isis, and Camp Midgard. Legacies of Greek gods and goddesses aren't allowed.

Due to canon established in Heroes of Olympus, Roman and Greek deities are the same, just different "personalities" or "aspects" of each other. The goal of this is to follow the canon established by Rick Riordan, not to state or imply that this is Greek and Roman mythology facts.
**Because they have been focusing on protecting their children and keeping out of the eyes of the Greeks and Romans, Egyptian and Norse gods and goddesses are known to be more involved in their children's life. There's no rule against them visiting their sons or daughters and they usually all claim their children.

Advertising is not allowed, period, even if the site appears dead. All advertisements posted in the cboxes will be removed and ignored.
Swearing is to be kept to a minimum. Do NOT cuss someone out on any of the cboxes, even in character.
Obey the staff without any questions. The staff is here for a reason and is not stupid. What they say goes. If a member of staff appears to be misusing his or her power, message the head admin. Freedom of speech, though, if you have a question about a staff decision or power, you can PM that member of staff or the head admin.
Be considerate. Think about others before you say something or post something. Seriously, we're all humans and we all have hearts and can all get hurt.
The staff haves lives and sometimes they get very busy just like every other member, so do not ask staff to look at applications. They will look at them when they have the time.
